Product Description

Industrial-Grade Inline Flame Treatment

Systematic Automation’s Flame Treatment Conveyor is a rugged, industrial-grade system that delivers consistent, reliable surface treatment to a wide range of products. It raises surface energy for better ink, coating, and adhesive bonding by precisely controlling flame exposure as parts move through the burner on a continuous belt.

The system runs on either propane or natural gas and needs only standard 120V electrical power and 80 PSI of compressed air, so it integrates into an existing production environment without special utilities. Burner configuration and conveyor speed are fully adjustable, so the machine is tailored to the exact requirements of your application.

Like every SA machine, this flame treating conveyor is designed and manufactured in Farmington, Connecticut for decades of continuous use — the same commitment to quality, safety, and performance behind the Flame 360 and the Bottle Treater.

Why Flame Treat on a Conveyor

Flame treatment is the fastest, lowest-cost way to prepare plastics and other low-surface-energy materials for printing, coating, or bonding. The flame oxidizes the surface and burns off oils and contaminants, so ink and adhesive hold instead of flaking.

A conveyor flame treater does that work inline. Parts ride a stainless mesh belt under a fixed burner at a controlled speed, so every part sees the same flame for the same time — no operator variability, no hand-passing. Feed it from an upstream process or load by hand, then pass straight to printing, coating, or assembly.

Typical Applications

Flat and shaped parts that need a better ink, coating, or adhesive bond before the next process — plastic housings and panels, polyethylene and polypropylene components, molded parts, trays, lids, and sheet goods. If your part rides a belt, we can treat it. Send us a sample and we’ll run it.

Advantages

  • Flexible fuel operation — compatible with both propane and natural gas for versatile installation options.
  • Simple utility requirements — standard 120V electrical power and 80 PSI compressed air. No special service needed.
  • Custom burner lengths — burners available from 6″ to 35″, so coverage matches your product precisely.
  • Adjustable burner height — position the burner from 1″ to 30″+ above the conveyor to suit a wide range of part geometries.
  • Variable conveyor speed — choose a 1–10 ft/min range or a 5–50 ft/min range for optimal treatment control.
  • Precise flame control — an easily adjustable air-to-fuel ratio lets the operator fine-tune the flame for consistent results.

Options

  • Burner length: 6″ to 35″
  • Conveyor speed range: 1–10 ft/min or 5–50 ft/min
  • Belt width: built to size for your product
  • Fuel: propane or natural gas
  • Add FieroSil™ for the hardest-to-bond inks and coatings

Built for the Line, Not the Bench

  • Same flame, every part — a fixed burner over a belt at a set speed removes operator variability. Dial in height, speed, and air-to-fuel once and run.
  • Sized to the product — burner lengths from 6″ to 35″ and 1″ to 30″+ of height adjustment cover flat panels, molded parts, trays, and sheet goods without a custom machine.
  • Drops into existing lines — 120V, 80 PSI, and your choice of propane or natural gas. Feed from an upstream process or load by hand, then pass straight to printing, coating, or assembly.
  • Need more than flame? — for the hardest-to-bond inks and coatings, FieroSil™ pretreatment integrates with SA conveyors. For cylindrical products, see the Flame 360 and the Bottle Treater.
