Pen Printing FAQ

Which machine do I need?

The PEN Printer is built only for pens and handles caps, clips and many barrel shapes. The Vinci 1452 prints pen barrels and other small cylindrical parts at higher volume. Tell us your pen and volume and we will match the machine.

How many pens per hour?

The PEN Printer runs approximately 4,200 pens per hour. The Vinci 1452 runs up to 4,300 parts per hour. Both are rated for continuous duty, 3 shifts a day.

Can I print more than one color?

Yes. Mechanical or optical registration keeps each color lined up, run after run.

What inks and drying can I use?

Hot air drying is standard for solvent inks. LED or UV curing is available for UV inks and gives an instant cure.

Will ink stick to polypropylene pens?

Yes, with pretreatment. A flame station built into the machine raises the surface tension so the ink bonds. FieroSil is another option for hard-to-bond plastics.

How long does delivery take?

The PEN Printer typically ships in 6 to 8 weeks. The Vinci 1452 typically ships in about 6 weeks. Both ship turnkey with a 1-year limited warranty.
