License Plate Printing FAQ

What machine prints license plates?

A rotary screen printer. The Model RC-1 is the semi-automatic choice for custom and souvenir plates. The Model NCC is the automatic choice for state and government volume.

Can it print more than one color?

Yes. The NCC prints two to six colors in one pass with UV LED curing between colors. The RC-1 prints multi-color designs with repeatable registration.

Will the print hold up outdoors?

Yes. Plates are pretreated and printed with inks made for weather exposure, so the print stays sharp through sun, rain and road salt.

How many plates per hour?

About 1,800 on the RC-1 and about 3,600 on the NCC, depending on the plate and the number of colors.

Can the machine load and unload plates by itself?

Yes. Loaders, unloaders and vision inspection can be added to either machine for continuous production.

Where are your license plate printers made?

Every machine is designed and built by Systematic Automation in Farmington, Connecticut. We have built screen printing machines for over 40 years.
