Model F1 – Stencil Printing

Stencil printing is not as daunting as you may think. Typically stencil printing is reserved for solder paste for printing on circuit boards. If you look up circuit board printer you will see screen printing machines that are over engineered after over budget. Our standard Model F1 with servo driven print head for precise paste lay down and vacuum table option will do the job at a fraction of the price.

Stencils are typically used when screen printing solder paste. You can use a metal plate as a screen with holes inside for the paste to come through when the print cycle is actuated. Solder paste is deposited on wiring boards to create connections.

The process of screen printing solder paste is demanding. The right amount of solder paste must be deposited, extremely high registration requirement (typically vision systems are required). The amount of solder being added is relied upon by the stencil. The stencil is wiped down after approximately 10 prints. Vacuum tables can be used to hold the circuit board for registration. The largest take away is that registration is key.
